Sam Houston Racecourse has two tracks, one which is a mile oval dirt track and the other which is a seven furlong turf track. The Live racing season at the track runs from October 28th through to April 5th, whilst the live quarter horse racing season stretches from June 26th to September 6th.
Live racing can be seen from Thursday to Sunday with a post time of 7.00pm every day other than Sunday when it is set at 5.00pm. Simulcast racing, however, is shown throughout the year every day of the week. Entry to the course cost $4 for both simulcast racing and live racing.
