Ruidoso Downs has a seven furlong dirt track, which has a 660 foot final stretch after the final turn of the course. It also has a track dedicated to quarter horse racing which is a straight stretch of turf and just 550 yards long. Also at the track one can find the Billy the Kid Casino which opens every day from 10 am.
The live racing season runs from may 23rd through to September 1st, whilst simulcast racing can be watched at the course throughout the year. The course opens every day of the week, live racing, however, is just shown on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with a post time on all days of 1.00pm.
