Los Alamitos racecourse, unlike most other American racecourses, hosts live racing all year round, stopping just between December 28th and January 1st. Racing occurs every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday with post times of 7.15pm, 7.00pm and 5.30pm accordingly.
Los Alamitos has a very small oval dirt track of just 5 Furlongs but it does have a large grandstand in front of the finish line, which is preceeded by a 558 foot stretch after the final corner.
Simulcast racing is also shown at the course and begins at 5.30pm every day, parking is free whilst admission prices start at $3 although on Thursday evenings admission is free to those aged over 64.
