Track Info

Evangeline Downs has a seven furlong, oval dirt track and is well known for its ability to host races with a large field. Thoroughbred season at the track starts on April 9th and runs through to September 1st whilst quarter horse racing begins on September 25th and ends on November 30th.

Simulcast racing is held throughout the year at the track and the racetrack is also the home of a casino and a number of friendly bars and restaurants. Both parking as well as admission to the ground is free and racing usually starts at 6.20pm.

As well as the racecourse itself, Evangeline Downs runs four off tack betting parlours in Louisiana. They can be found at Port Allen, New Iberia, Henderson and Eunice.

Entry Cost

Free clubhouse admission with minimum purchase of food and beverage. *Proper attire in clubhouse, reservations recommended. Group Rates are available.

Directions

Evangeline Downs is located off Interstate 49 in Opelousas, Louisiana. Take I-49 northbound to the Creswell Lane exit (Exit 18). Turn right and proceed ½ mile (second light) to the entrance to Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino. Follow the entrance road past valet parking to the north parking lot. The racetrack is located on the east side of the property.
