Track Info

Plainridge racecourse’s live harness season runs from March 19th to November 27th. The track opened only very recently, on the 26th March 1999, but has proved very popular, with a gross purse in 2006 reaching just under $3.5 million.

The post time is 4.00pm for the first six months of the season, but in September, October and November the post time is 1.00pm. The five furlong oval dirt track has a home stretch of a rather large 600 foot after the final turn and is composed of a gravel base with a stone dust layering on top.

Admission to the course is free of charge, as is parking at the course. Simulcast racing is shown throughout the year, with the course opening at 10.00am for the service.
